This website provides a simple example of a door alarm. This alarm was made for a 7 year olds door and was constructed with little assistance. The site gives a list of materials needed as well as a picture of each. The materials needed are a magnet contact (reed contect), type=NO normaly open, a smoke detector, an on/off switch SPST, cable (1m, 2 wires 0.7mm), and a 9V battery for the smoke detector. This also gives step by step intstructions as well as itemised. The intructions are detailed and simple to follow.

This is a how-to link to make an alarm system. The site is organized well, but the images are very small. You cant really see what the description on the picture says though. The materials list is very organized. Along with just the regular materials the link gets into descriptions about the type of wire and why its necessary. Below the materials is the principles. This give a brief explanation of the materials and how they are all essential to the alarm working properly. The materials needed are: insulated wire, get 4 strands of wire, each 1 foot in length, 1.5- volt battery, kite string or button-and-carpet thread, 3-5 feet long, Scissors, electrical tape, 1.5-volt mini-buzzer, spring-type wooden clothes pin, a scrap piece of board or plywood 4 inches by 12 inches or bigger, and super glue.

This is a link to a simple alarm system using basic instructions and materials. The main part of this burglar alarm is an insulated wire. You will need a 1.5 volt battery and a mini buzzer. Also, get 5 feet long kite string and a 4” × 12” piece of wood. Other materials needed for this project are electrical tape, scissors, wooden cloth peg with springs and super glue. The burglar alarm system has 3 parts, a battery, a buzzer and a buzzer switch. The power for the alarm to work is provided by the battery. The buzzer is the part of the alarm system that produces the sound. The buzzer switch is the connection between the buzzer and the battery. This connection is made using 2 electrical wires. One of the electrical wires is connected to the positive end of the battery, and the other wire is connected to the negative end of the battery. The free ends of both the wires are connected to the buzzer.
